Estimate AI workflow cost before a large batch
A batch estimate needs more than the number of rows. Cost depends on the model calls per record, input size, output size, retries, and any additional tools or execution services.
Measure a representative sample
Run a small sample containing short, long, and ambiguous inputs. Measure usage for each rather than extrapolating from the easiest record. Long documents and extra review passes can dominate the total. Include fixed setup work separately from per-record work, and state whether the estimate uses hosted credits or your own provider account.

What to verify
Use current provider prices when calculating money; a stored price can become stale. Baleybots' billing rules distinguish an unknown price from zero, and hosted balances are workspace-based. An unpriced operation should remain unknown in an estimate rather than making the total look artificially cheap. Compare actual settled usage with your sample estimate before increasing the batch size.
